Main Spec / Off Spec Gameplay
The raid roster is viewable here: Roster & Recruitment
Where we have more main spec players than the number of spots in the role, everyone will rotate through that role. This rotation will occur per raid day. This will allow everyone to play their preferred role regularly: For example:
> We have five of a role, and four spots for that role. One is happy making their off-spec their new main spec. The other four prefer their main spec.
Raid day one – Player 1, Player 2, and Player 3 main spec; Player 4 off spec
Raid day two – Player 2, Player 3, and Player 4 main spec; Player 1 off spec
Raid day three – Player 3, Player 4, and Player 1 main spec; Player 2 off spec
Raid day four- Player 4, Player 1, and Player 2 main spec; Player 3 off spec
Here, each of the players can main spec three out of every four raids. For loot, each player rolls for the role they are playing at the time.
Loot
Since Loot Master isn’t available rolls will be rolls per in-game. We could try to have everyone pass on the loot, and then have a sort of manual Master Looter. But there are restrictions on trading loot that would be an issue. Per Blizzard:
“You cannot trade gear that is an upgrade for your character. An item is an upgrade for your character when its item level is higher than the item level of any previously received gear for that specific slot.” – https://us.support.blizzard.com/en/help/article/4950
Current Spec > Off Spec
Loot goes first to the current spec – the spec one is raiding on at the time. This can be challenging for players who are playing on their off spec for roles we thankfully have more than enough players to fill. So for instance, if a player is a tank main spec but is playing on off spec DPS as the third tank in a 12-man raid, that player rolls on DPS gear while in the DPS role. We will alleviate gear/skill gap for if the third tank needs to take over tanking because one of the first two tanks must be out of raid by regularly rotating all players through their main roles, as discussed earlier.
